Senior Accountant

REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager

MISSION: The Senior Accountant will perform a wide range of accounting work, which includes maintenance of the general ledger for multiple locations and legal entities, account reconciliations, preparation of financial statements in Microsoft Dynamics and Hyperion FM and financial consolidations. The role will also support the budget and forecasting effort of the organization and provide analytical data to various business segments.

• Minimum 5 years of progressive responsibility in accounting functions, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics and Hyperion Financial Management

• Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited University

• Knowledge of GAAP
• Strong analytical and general accounting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft office packages with Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel.
• Knowledge of accounting software systems, Hyperion strongly preferred
• Experience working with financial statements of foreign subsidiaries preferred.
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously within established deadlines.
• Able to identify potential problems and recommend solutions.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with all personnel levels.

• Ensure accurate general ledger work-paper support for Balance Sheet and Expense accounts of domestic company as well as assistance with foreign entities.
• Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation/analysis, and completion of monthly general ledger closing.
• Analyze accounting transactions for accuracy, investigate questionable data and take corrective action when necessary.
• Support tax and regulatory filing effort; compile tax provision support and filing documentation.
• Prepare internal financial statements in Microsoft Dynamics and support preparation of monthly reporting packages.
• Assist with Global consolidation of financial information in HFM.
• Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates and significant changes.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting throughout the fiscal year
• Net sales and Gross Margin analysis by customer/by SKU
• Review monthly expenditures and budget variances with business segment personnel
• Assist with tracking of Property, Plant and Equipment and related depreciation recognition.
• Participate in annual year end physical inventory count.
• Assist with annual external audit. Complete requested materials and manage the compilation of support schedules for the annual and interim audits.
• Document accounting procedures and controls.
• Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
