Balanced Torque

A vehicle’s differential transfers energy from the engine via the transmission, then through the driveshaft. An open differential delivers equal torque to both wheels on an axis, allowing them to rotate at different rates and creating a smooth ride. A limited-slip differential, on the other hand, is utilized in many performance vehicles, including off-road vehicles and muscle cars. If a wheel slips, or raises off the ground, torque will automatically transfer to the contact wheel, preventing overturning. Sta-Lube® Equa-Torque® Differential Friction Modifier balances the torque in limited slip differential systems by reducing friction.

Prevents Clutch Chatter

As the metal surfaces of the clutch plates rub together, friction is created. When properly lubricated, your vehicle should run smoothly with little vibration and normal clutch engagement. With age, wear, and contamination, however, clutch plates can begin to rub and grind, causing sticking, slipping, and vibration. This can be particularly evident when making turns. This “clutch chatter” impacts the performance of your ride and causes premature wear and tear on parts. Sta-Lube® Equa-Torque® restores performance by reducing friction and eliminating the noise.

How Do You Use Equa-Torque®?

1. Drain differential while warm.
2. Add entire tube to differential.
3. Fill differential with manufacturers recommended gear oil.
4. Treatment Ratio: use 1 tube for 1-4 quarts of gear oil. Use 2 tubes for 5-8 quarts of gear oil. Do not use more than amount recommended in treatment ratio.
5. Recommended for use in limited slip, positraction, and standard differentials. Should be used with conventional GL-5 or synthetic gear oils. Not for use in automatic transmissions or other ATF applications. Not for use in Jeep® vehicles with Quadra-Trac® or Quadra-Drive®. Do not use if gear oil already contains limited slip additive.
