Technical Briefs
The CRC Product Shipping Guide is designed to assist in determining proper shipping names for our products in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation and international regulations. This guide is intended to be used by individuals who are properly trained and certified for hazardous materials shipping as per 49 CFR 172.702 and 172.704. CA TRANSPARENCY
As of June 1, 2015, all products shipped by CRC Industries, Inc. that are for workplace use must be in compliance with OSHA’s 2012 Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom 2012). This standard incorporated the global chemical classification system known as GHS. This project (required by OSHA) mandated all CRC products and formulas be evaluated and classified to a new system, mostly consistent with the rest of the world.
CRC kicked off the project in the fall of 2012, by investing in a new computer program that searches worldwide databases for chemical information and performs calculations used in classifying our products. Almost 900 MSDS (now called SDS) were modified and over 400 labels were recreated.
It is important to understand that there are a number of ways to be compliant with the 2012 HazCom Standard. These technical briefs and brochure (links below) explain CRC’s approach to HazCom 2012 and advise what, if any, actions should be taken by distributors or customers.
CRC has spent considerable resources preparing for this update. We are proud to announce that all of our Safety Data Sheets are in compliance with HazCom 2012 (GHS) and are available on our website.
